Fifth Avenue Synagogue is a community with a rich history and an exciting future.

Whether you grew up attending yeshiva or are learning more about your Jewish background, we welcome you to study with our rabbis and our Hebrew teacher.

We offer daily services and lectures, warm and exciting Shabbat dinners every month, as well as a hot Kiddush lunch on Shabbat and special events on the holidays.

A Historic Community in the Heart of Manhattan

Centrally located in the heart of Manhattan, Fifth Avenue Synagogue has opened its doors to Jews from New York and from around the globe since 1958. The guiding vision of its founders combined a strict adherence to Jewish law and tradition with an aesthetically attractive ambiance that would appeal to a community immersed in contemporary America. Today, as we open a newly-renovated building featuring much of the original work of renowned architect Percival Goodman, we reaffirm our commitment to Orthodox Judaism and high-caliber programming that appeals to modern Jews of all ages.

Today, as always, our doors are open for morning and afternoon/evening minyan 365 days a year. We are proud to house the stunning Rennert Mikvah and the Creative Playschool, one of the most esteemed nursery schools in Manhattan.  Warmth and kindness fill the hallways and learning and prayer warm the hearts of our members and guests. We look back with pride on our history and we look forward with hope for the future. We invite you to join the incredible community that is Fifth Avenue Synagogue.
